I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for 3 years as a dual major in Chemistry & Biology with intentions of attending Pharmacy School. I began working with the VA Department of Health Professions (Investigations Division) as a disciplinary case reviewer.  These cases involved violations of regulatory, state and federal laws by licensed medical professionals. During this time, I worked closely with the attorneys from the VA Office of the Attorney General (Criminal Law Division) who were assigned to represent the various Medical Boards in the prosecution of the cases. This started my career path change towards law enforcement and the legal system.

Since then, I have had the pleasure of working for 20+ years with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the VA State Police, several Commonwealth’s Attorneys, US Attorneys, the FBI, DEA and the IRS, both in the office and in the field. As a Certified Criminal Analyst and as a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA), I have worked cases in Canada and several European countries while employed with the National White Collar Crime Commission (NW3C).

I took a few years off to be an 'at home mom' while my daughter experienced those terrible "preteen/middle school” years. Surviving successfully, I decided to reenter the workforce. I still loved the law but no longer wished to work 12+ hour days and travel so often, thus I decided to see if I could offer my acquired skills to a local attorney.  I have worked for Mr. Chappell since August 2003.

I love to work in my garden, cook, read and spend time with my family, including the furry ones. My daughter is currently working towards her Ph.D. in immunology and infectious disease at VCU/MCV.  We have a deaf dog, a Dogo Argentino that we have trained to respond to sign language.
